Image Reaction 1.4

Hello! I just wanted to give a heads up that with the newest version of OBS (33.0.0 from 10/23/2026) doesn't seem to read the Image reaction plug in (I've been using it since May 2026). I tried re-downloading and putting the folders in the right places but I get met with this error, just wanted to pass this along in case anyone is trying to use the plug in as of October 25, 2026! Is there a way to work around this or get the plug in back up?

Hello everyone, i never expected this update to be such an mess. While i have a hard time even installing OBS 33, let alone test changes from Poste2Travail, who recently made a fix for OBS 33, you can try @Ashmanix fork of my plugin. https://github.com/ashmanix/obs-image-reaction/releases

I will update my plugin when i will able to test it myself. By the way, there is no 33 version of OBS on official website. No proper release for linux too.

Hello, I followed the instructions for the "README" text for the new update but I don't see it popping up in my plug-in manager/add source (Screenshots below)

I did un-install OBS to re-install just in case but had no luck. Is there anything i can do to get it to pop up?

Hello, that's not what README says, it says "C:\ProgramData\obs-studio\plugins\", not "Program files", and not "obs-plugins", just "plugins".

You can read more about plugin locations on official page:

But one thing i noticed that i haven't changed description on the page of the plugin, i gonna fix that soon.

OBS decided to change location for plugins, installation in Program Files is now deprecated and will be removed in future versions. I remade plugin structure to be compatible with recommended installation method. I guess now there will be much more confusion because of that.......

Current install style does not work.
Plugin is unseen by program.
Installed in "C:\ProgramData\obs-studio\plugins\"

Hello, it's not Program Files, it's ProgramData, hidden folder. I was talking about same issue literally 2 posts ago. I don't know why OBS official documentation recommends to install plugin in hidden folder, it causes so much confusion. If anyone knows more intuitive way of installing OBS plugins on windows - please let me know.

You are correct, sorry about that. I was in a rush to get to streaming cause of this garbage update. I will work with it later.

Hey, I'm sorry but I am terribly lost in all of this.

My installation path is on E:,
the obs folder has bin, data and obs-plugins folders in it. Additionally, the data folder has more folders including another obs-plugins folder.

I've tried every folder I could and I simply cannot get the plugin to appear in OBS, I also have Streamelements (mentioning that if there's a possibility of a conflict?) Programdata in C: only has shader-cache folder

Same issue as everyone else here, updated to 33.0.1 and it's completely broken, says 'error' after the plugin in the manager. I hope there is an update possible, I do love being able to have a face to my voice for streaming.

Version 1.4 of the plugin resolves this. You just need to make sure to install it in the C:\ProgramData\obs-studio\plugins folder as noted in the comments earlier.

Hello, do you use portable version of OBS? For portable version of OBS plugin location is different, this is example from documentation:
```
Module G:\portable\obs-studio\plugins\example-plugin\example-plugin.dll
Data G:\portable\obs-studio\plugins\example-plugin\data\*
```

I'm interested, people who still have troubles installing plugin, do you use Steam version of OBS? One person on github have troubles installing plugin, location seems to be correct, but plugin doesn't work. Maybe Steam version is different or something.

I dont use Steam OBS, and I cannot find Programdata folder either... I'm sorry to bother, but I'm not quite smart at those things :( My plugin doesnt appear in OBS at all. Apparently I put the "reaction-image" in wrong place, but cannot find the good one..... Help appreciated.
