Best Practice recording audio & video from USB capture source (VIXLW HDMI Capture Card 2130 Chip)

OK, here's my issue, when recording with HDMI Splitter (HDCP bypass) from Firestick, I'm getting a couple second dropout sporadically obvious when characters are speaking...I am recording from various apps on Firestick (Roku Channel, Plex, etc.)... I am using Ubuntu 24 on a SuperMicro Server with ZFS storage array. I have tried both XFCE4 (X11) and Gnome (Wayland) and both respond exactly the same.

I have tried different apps and OBS is the only reliable one accessing the USB v4l2 card. FFMPEG and GUVW are constantly aborting recording for no apparent reason...Storage space is not an issue; have 20 TB free on ZFS.

Thanks for any ideas; have tried suggestions from Google AI, but none have panned out... If I could increase Audio Priority on USB Stick somehow, might fix issue, but can't figure out how.

If any logs would help, please help me find them. I have limited experience troubleshooting this kind of issue on Linux.
